Felicia Marshall will be the treasurer for the 2017-2018 fiscal year of the SWE Greater Salt Lake section. Prior to that she served as the membership chair for three years, during which she applied for and received section membership awards for retention and growth. She has been a member of SWE since 2010 and was the treasurer for the BYU section of American Society of Mechanical Engineers for 5 semesters before that. She is passionate about clear concise communication, automation and efficiency, teaching and inspiring others to love learning and serving their communities.
Felicia grew up in Southern California, lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons until she moved to Utah to attend BYU where she studied and received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering all the while working as a TA of Computer-Aided Design and other classes. She then worked as a Critical Problem Resolution Engineer and manager for NOV IntelliServ in the oil Industry and now manages the Quality Assurance team for the player portion of the Sling TV application for Dish in the entertainment industry. She hopes to eventually work her way into Data Science or start a business related to personal automation and organization solutions.
Her husband is a nurse who manages the medical staff at a plasma donation center and her three girls are all exuberant souls who loving singing and learning and laughing. They are all very excited to be welcoming a new addition to the family in the fall whom most hope will be a little brother. While these responsibilities keep Felicia busy enough, she does enjoy extensive service in her local church, regular participation in a local running club, and P90X workouts. Maybe some day she will figure out the logistics of training for triathlons.
