EYH Expanding Your Horizons Salt Lake March 7, 2015

The BrushbotTeam2015On Saturday, March 7, we joined the IEEE workshop to help make brush-bots with middle school girls.  Willow Toso (center) led the workshop and gave the girls a short primer on electricity.  There were 3 hour long workshops, breakfast and lunch included.  What a great event to encourage girls in STEM careers.

Greetings from Salt Lake Community College and the Expanding Your Horizons Steering Committee!

On behalf of the girls who attended the Saturday, March 7 EYH event and the Expanding Your Horizons Steering Committee at Salt Lake Community College, I am writing to thank you and your team for the huge efforts made in planning and executing your workshop for the event.  The workshops offered at an EYH event are considered the “meat and potatoes” of meeting the mission of Expanding Your Horizons in encouraging more girls and young women to consider a career in STEM through an interactive hands-on event.

The interactions between girls and presenters create the very essence of each Expanding Your Horizons event!  Please accept our Great Big Thank  you for joining us in creating an awareness of opportunities in STEM for girls in grades 6-10.
